Get Creative with Events on QiqoChat

We’ve built QiqoChat so that you can customize your live events using all the tools that are available.  Below are our recommendations for how to make your events as interactive and productive as possible.

Use the Main Table and the Breakout Tables

During an event, participants can quickly jump to different breakout tables.  As the creator of an event, you can use this to your advantage to design a highly interactive experience.

Everyone will arrive at the main table when they join the event.  You can use the main table to explain how the event will run, describe the discussion topics for each of the breakout tables, and field questions.  You can even use the collaborative notes area to receive suggestions and modify the topics for the breakout sessions on the fly.

Once you mark the breakout tables by topic, participants can decide which conversation they want to join.  This way they can engage on the specific topics that are most relevant to them.

You can design the event so that everyone changes breakout tables at regular intervals and you can send on-screen notifications so that people know when it’s time to change tables.  There are many variations of this concept, such as always having one person remain at the table to provide continuity and to orient the newcomers to the collaborative notes that the last group took on this topic.

Use the Days & Weeks Prior to the Event

Collaboration can start before the event even begins. Events will be far more productive if participants have a chance to review a video or reading material before the event begins.

For example, you could post an article on QiqoChat and encourage everyone to bring their questions to the event.  Taking this a step farther, you could encourage people to post their comments on that article or even write an article in response.  This way they can comment on each other’s ideas and get the conversation going in advance.  They will have time to think about the key ideas in your article over the span of a few days and you’ll find that the conversation during the live event will be much more fruitful.

Use Screensharing

This is a powerful way to literally get everyone on the same page.  Multiple users can share their screen with each other at the same time.  You can watch a video together or a presenter can share their slides.

Share Links to Interactive Apps

When you or any of the participants shares a link during an event, the webpage will open right there inside the event.  This gives you all sorts of options for embedding content such as images, documents, presentations, and even full websites with interactive apps such as surveys, whiteboards, etc.

Additionally, all the articles, conversations, recommendations, and flashcards that your members share in your QiqoChat circle are also available as interactive apps which you and they can share inside an event.

One advanced example would be sharing a QiqoChat written conversation prior to an event and then embedding it into the event.  Each breakout table can have a separate discussion about what they see while at the same time writing new responses that will be visible by members at all the other tables.  This provides the best of both world: personal, small-group discussion so that everyone gets heard while allowing the best ideas to rise to the top across the entire conversation.
